Our client is an independent international engineering and project management consultancy leading the way in sustainable development and innovation.

They are seeking an Associate Transport Planner to manage and produce technical studies within the Transport Planning function. You’ll be technically competent in analysing various transport or development-related projects and are able to manage several projects and project teams simultaneously. The position will consist of day to day contact with Clients and you will be expected to develop and manage key accounts and develop new business.

You’ll be intrinsically curious about how transport interconnects with society and the environment, and be motivated to become technically excellent.

Example projects:-

Technical support to the Transport Planning team and particularly to our Development Planning team which focuses on supporting clients through the planning process. Typical projects may include:
  • Large residential-led mixed use schemes
  • Retail facilities
  • Education facilities
  • City centre regeneration schemes.
  • Delivery of sustainable transport infrastructure in both urban and rural areas.

Job Role:
  • Manage existing Clients and Client accounts.
  • Develop new Clients and Client Accounts.
  • Financial and Technical management of projects.
  • Developing innovative transport solutions.
  • Proactively contributing to the technical development of the transport function of the business.
  • Providing project management and technical support and advice within the business in order to:
  • Develop the project management skills of other staff.
  • Develop the technical skills of other staff.
  • Ensure consistency in project management and technical quality from other staff.
  • Expert knowledge of junction modelling programs, such as JUNCTIONS, LINSIG and TRANSYT, as well as the TRICS database.
  • Pro-actively win work for themselves and the wider team.
  • Preparation of fee proposals.
  • Develop the technical skills of other staff and ensure consistency in project management and technical quality from other staff.
