Consultant/ Senior Consultant - Transport Modelling

They have a new opportunity for an experienced Consultant – Transport Modelling to join their growing Modelling team from any of our UK offices (remote working initially with a hybrid model longer term.)

The successful candidate will join a growing and vibrant Transport Planning and Modelling team providing strong technical guidance whilst supporting work-winning with both existing and new clients.

The Role

The role will focus on developing strategic highway, public transport and/or multi-modal models. With the support of the Modelling and Appraisal, Public Transport and Transport Planning teams in across the UK, you will play a key role in delivering/managing projects.

Responsibilities will include:

• Assisting with the technical delivery of transport modelling projects
• Project management
• Proposal management
• Skill transfer to team members
• Staff Mentoring
• Client liaison and management
• Identifying and effectively communicating client/project objectives
• Model quality assurance
• Preparation and delivery of technical reports and presentations

Experience

• Graduate level in a relevant subject (e.g. Transport Planning, Geography, Mathematics, Economics or Engineering)
• Masters’ degree in Transport Planning or similar an advantage
• Achieved or actively working towards post graduate qualification (TPP, CEng etc) would be desirable
• Significant experience with Strategic Transport Modelling Software (e.g. SATURN, CUBE, VISUM, EMME)
• Microsimulation Modelling (e.g. PARAMICS, VISUM, AIMSUN, LEGION)
• Understanding of development and application of transport models including knowledge of industry standards (e.g. WebTAG)
• Knowledge of Economic Appraisal
• Data analysis (including spreadsheets and databases) and problem-solving
• Reporting of model results
• Strong communication skills, both written and verbal
