(PM200) Associate Director Ecology

Job title: Associate Director Ecology
Location: Edinburgh, Glasgow

Are you an experienced ecologist with skills in leadership and project management, and looking to further your career in a large, well-respected consultancy without the glass ceiling? Or aspiring to work on a greater diversity of projects where you can continue to develop your technical expertise whilst mentoring and supporting colleagues?

The Role
Our client is seeking a talented, experienced or aspiring Associate Director to join their 80-strong Ecology team. With ambitions to grow their presence in Scotland, they want to emulate the success of the global business. Their Ecology team continues to develop and the Associate Director will have the opportunity to influence and shape its future as part of the Ecology Management Team.

This is an exciting opportunity for the successful candidate to develop their areas of interest whilst collaborating and being supported by technical experts from across the business. You will be encouraged to develop innovative solutions that benefit biodiversity, society and the economy.

The key features for this role include being an expert in a technical specialism with the ability to generate opportunities and tender documents, with project management experience (from enquiry to completion), and the confidence to develop client relationships. You will have the ability to think on your feet, steer the direction of the team and inform the long-term goals of the national Ecology team and wider business. This is a great opportunity for someone with vision and ambition.

Given the variety of projects our client works on, they are looking for a talented individual who can confidently adapt their leadership and project management skills to develop client relationships and meet specific project requirements.  As an important contributor to the Ecology and Environment teams, and in line with our defined career framework, you will develop your own expertise and support the development of those around you providing direction to ensure technical report quality, health and safety management and budget control.

They operate fully flexible, hybrid working which allows their Environmental specialists to choose where, how and when you work as long as our clients are receiving the high-quality service they expect.  They focus on talent and skills, not postcode. The role will require working closely with the Ecology leadership team, mentoring and managing other consultants and developing relationships with clients and colleagues from other teams so may require some time at an office or alternative working space to suit those involved.

Our client is very happy to discuss flexible working for this role, including the possibility of reduced or compressed hours and flexible start or finish times. They can offer a range of solutions to help you get the most out of your work / life balance.  If the timing’s not quite right for you, please do still get in touch as they will always consider deferring the start date for the right candidate.
