POSITION:       Ecologist/ Senior Ecologist

The Role:

Building on a track record as one of the leading global environmental consultancies, our client is seeking an Ecologist or Snr Ecologist to join the team Belfast.  With ambitions to grow their UK presence to emulate the success of the global business, they are looking for an ecologist to join an established network of over 95 ecologists with the energy to contribute to a diverse project portfolio. 

Examples of current projects include:
  • Bat roost assessments and emergence/activity surveys for a range of residential and industrial projects
  • Ecological appraisals and protected species surveys for projects across a range of sectors including transport, solar and wind
  • Protected species licensing work for badger and otter
Given the variety of projects, they are looking for an ecologist who has strong field skills and who can confidently adapt their technical knowledge to specific project requirements, including liaison with stakeholders.  With support from the regional and wider national teams, and in line with a defined career framework, you will develop your expertise across many areas of ecology although you will also be able to choose to develop skills in a particular technical specialism. 

Flexible Working:

Operating a fully flexible, hybrid working which allows ecologists to choose where, how and when they work. The role will require site work as well as working closely with the regional teams so may require some time at an office or alternative working space to suit those involved.
