Director - Transport PlanningBristolSeeking a full-time Director for the Transport Planning Team (South).

Responsibilities:
- You will have demonstrable business development credentials, ideally with a focus on London and the South markets. This role will essentially be leading on work-winning through established and developed client contacts, with an expectation of building a solid workload to support the development of a small team.
- This will need to be backed up by providing project management and technical support, managing staff and providing support with the mentoring and development of junior team members.
- The candidate will be expected to take individual responsibility for projects, manage them, and be the client’s main point of contact. Instruct, supervise and mentor junior staff as well as support their professional development.You will need to demonstrate relevant technical and market knowledge and experience of working on projects for the private and public sectors across London and the South of England.
Requirements:
We are looking for a keen, progressive and versatile individual with an established background in transport planning. For this role, we require candidates to have:
- Proven project management and business development capabilities (including proposal writing)
- Knowledge of the UK transport planning industry and the UK planning system
- Extensive experience in preparing Transport Assessments, Travel Plans, Transport chapters for Environmental Statements, etc
- Self-motivation and capability to undertake specific tasks with minimum supervision
- Ability to manage own time to meet project deadlines
- Excellent presentation skills
- Excellent spreadsheet skills
- Experience of delivering technically challenging projects
- Experience of liaising / negotiating with public and private sector clients
- Understanding of current design guides, such as the Manual for Streets and DMRB.
- Knowledge of the application of junction modelling software
- Public Inquiry and Examination in Public experience would be beneficial
Preferred Qualifications:
- Degree or Masters in a relevant subject (e.g. transport planning, civil engineering, geography). Professional Accreditation, such as CMILT, TPP, MCIHT or MICE
