Job Title:          Senior or Principal Transport Planner
Location:          Oxfordshire

A multi-disciplinary consultancy offering engineering, design, and surveying expertise to the construction industry. The team provides professional advice at every stage of a project and brings strong experience across a wide range of sectors.

The team is highly motivated and committed to the delivering of successful projects.  A proven track record in solving complex transport planning challenges across various sectors.  Owing to an expanding workload, seeking a Senior or Principal Transport Planner.

You will be part of a talented and enthusiastic team of Transport Planners and Engineers who enjoy working on a diverse range of challenging projects. This is an excellent opportunity for a Transport Planner who is ready to take the next step in their career. The role offers the chance to develop your technical and commercial skills, contribute to the growth of the business, and work closely with senior management.

Seeking candidates with a solid consultancy background in Transport Planning and a passion for delivering high-quality work.

Duties & Responsibilities
  • Carry out the preparation of site appraisals, feasibility studies and pre-application advice
  • Prepare Transport Assessments, Transport Statements and Travel Plan
  • Undertake traffic modelling and junction capacity assessments
  • Liaise with clients, project team members and local authorities
  • Attend meetings with clients, local authorities and/or other members of the project team
Key skills & experience

Essential
  • Qualified to a minimum of degree level in an appropriate subject
  • An ability to deal with clients and other professionals
  • An ability to professionally represent the company
  • Strong communication skills, both verbally and written
  • Self-motivated and enthusiastic
  • Experience in preparing complex Transport Assessments
  • Experience with undertaking and/or interpreting micro-simulation traffic modelling using Paramics or VISSIM or network modelling using SATURN
  • Experience of promoting large scale residential development through the Local Plan process, with associated preparation of relevant evidence base
Desirable
  • Chartered in an appropriate subject discipline
  • Experience with highway design and Road Safety Audits
  • An ability to foster client relationships
