Opportunity:

Looking to appoint a talented Highway Engineer from Consultant through to Principal level to play a key role in growing a Highways Engineering business.

The roles will primarily involve leading the development of detailed designs in urban environments supported by the existing team, providing technical expertise, and contributing to the future growth of the business.  Currently engaged on a number of very high-profile and challenging projects for key clients, and there would be the opportunity to become involved in these projects directly and play a pivotal role in their delivery.

Specialising in developing active travel, public realm, traffic and transportation schemes and undertaking transport planning studies for public and private sector clients. The successful candidate will have the opportunity to input into schemes from initial feasibility through to detailed design and implementation. With an established a strong reputation for producing high quality schemes for a variety of purposes and have a good track record in developing innovative methodologies and solutions. 

The project work undertaking is varied, challenging and often high-profile. This ensures that the successful candidate will enjoy an interesting and satisfying work-life with many opportunities to develop valuable skills and experience.

It is essential that you have:

• A good standard relevant degree, or a post graduate qualification or a suitable level of professional experience to demonstrate capability.
• An understanding of transport modelling and ability to interpret model outputs.
• A strong understanding and working knowledge of AutoCAD
• A working knowledge of industry guidance – TSRGD, Manual for Streets, LTNs etc
• A high standard of numeracy.
• Good written and spoken English.
• Proficiency with MS Office software and Excel in particular.
• A good level of professional work experience, with London experience highly desirable.

Additionally, the following skills / experience would be beneficial:

• A good skill level and experience of using LinSig and Vissim microsimulation software.
• A good skill level and experience of using Visum, specifically TfL’s ONE model.
• A working knowledge of industry modelling guidance and an understanding of calibration and validation techniques.
• Experience of TfL’s Model Auditing Process.
• Project management skills would be an advantage
